Cockatoos & Macaws

On this page are a few pictures of the majestic beauty of some of the Larger breeds of birds.  Macaws like the Blue and Gold on the left, and the Scarlet on the bottom right, are tremendously intelligent birds.  In addition to their superb talking ability, they appear to have the ability to display independent thought.   Their speech is often thought out, rather than mimicked.  In addition, these beautiful giants, can be taught to do tricks

The macaw can make a good loving pet if handled correctly, but their loud vocalization and dominating personalities do not lend them to be a wise selection for the first time bird owner.

On the top right of this picture is a Goffin cockatoo.  These are loveable and playful little critters.  What they lack in talking ability, they make up ten fold with their gentle, but playful personalities.  Cockatoos, especially Goffins,  love to be loved and cuddled.  They make an excellent family pet, since they love everybody.  They also get along quite well in multiple pet environments.

Here is a picture of a Greater Sulphur Crested cockatoo.  These magnificent birds are also so very loveable.  When hand raised, they become quite attached to their owners.  This particular sub-species is a Triton.  When they raise their crests, you can see a definition of three different sections.  Along with their rich blue eye rings their raw beauty combined with their well known affection make them a wise choice for a family pet.  This little girl's foot is raised because her daddy is holding a camera, not her!!!

Below is a shot of one of our Green Winged Macaws just showing off in the toy area.  Do you think he may like one of those little swings over there?  Remember we have a considerable amount more birds available to us than we have bandwidth available.  If there is something in particular that you are looking for, let us know.  We'll do our best to find it for you.
